Serious Side Effects From Yaz Oral Contraceptives
Friday, November 20th, 2009You may have heard of Yaz contraceptives, or seen the Yaz “balloons” commercials on television. Yaz is a newer kind of oral contraceptive (birth control pill). It contains two medications: ethinyl estradiol, a kind of estrogen, and drospirenone, a newer version of progestin, which is a hormone related to estrogen. These two medications work together to stop a woman from ovulating, which prevents pregnancy. The same medications used in Yaz are also used in Yasmin, a related brand, and Ocella, the generic version of Yaz.
Many women think birth control pills such as Yaz are a safe and effective oral contraception. But, Yaz has been shown to cause a wide range of serious side effects and health complications, many of which are related to an excessive build up of potassium (and potentially copper, as well) in the body. Now Accepting Reglan (Metoclopramide) Clients
Monday, October 26th, 2009The Law Offices of Brian D. Witzer are now accepting clients who have been injured by the medication Reglan (generic name, metoclopramide). You may already know someone who has taken Reglan. If you’re not familiar with the drug, Reglan is a benzamide-class medication used to treat many different gastrointestinal and esophageal conditions. The drug is very versatile in how it can be used: by patients with diabetes to aid digestion, before clinical or surgical procedures to clear the gastrointestinal track, to prevent nausea and vomiting, and, surprisingly, sometimes to treat migraines. There has also been a recent trend of prescribing Reglan to pregnant mothers as a treatment for morning sickness.

The Crushing Blow: Hydraulic Lift and Skid Steer Loader Accidents
Monday, October 26th, 2009The Law Offices of Brian D. Witzer are now accepting clients who have been injured in hydraulic lift and skid steer loader accidents. Hydraulic machinery is commonly used at construction sites, factories, retail “big box” warehouse stores, storage warehouses, ranches, farms, and industrial work sites. Hydraulic lifts and skid steer loaders are popular “every day use” machines, used to move heavy materials in the buckets or other attachments fixed to the machines’ lift arms. The Bobcat brand of skid steer loader, for example, has been used around the United States for decades, and almost everyone has seen hydraulic fork lifts used at big box stores to lift pallets of groceries to and from the higher shelves.
