Setbacks

The California Bar exam, of course, is notorious for being a very difficult bar exam. One of the subjects on the California Bar exam was community property, which I had no idea was on the bar exam. So when I came to take it and they gave me a community property question, I didn't know what to say. So I wasn't really very well prepared. Ultimately that delay worked in my favor. Every setback I've ever had, even on cases individually, has worked out into my advantage. I mean, I've always felt that setbacks are part of life and, frankly, it's how you handle a setback, how you turn it and make it your advantage, how you learn from it that means the most. In my own lifetime, it's been nothing but positive, not negative, even though it hurts.
